INFO In 1981, Cassidy Preston and his wife Lily welcomed their first and only son, Jack, into their lives. Cassidy had just been promoted to Police Commissioner and his wife had been District Attorney for just over a year and a half. People like to say that justice is in his blood, and to some degree, Jack has always agreed. As a child, he was attended private schools, always excelling in sports -- particularly track -- and mathematics. By eighteen, he'd been accepted to all of his college choices, but by twenty he had already decided to follow in his fathers footsteps. He worked hard at it, and at twenty-four, he had met his goal. At thirty, he met and fell in love with Alice, and at thirty-one he married her. By thirty-six, they had legally separated due to his inability to father children (by choice, in college) and had more or less been single since before meeting Tyler. For the last ten or so years, Jack has had a successful career with one or two minor hiccups. For the last two years, he's been consumed by a serial killer case wherein every lead, well, leads nowhere. The case has become his life, both in work and out of work, continuously caught in a game of cat and mouse he can't seem let himself escape from. PERSONALITY Jack is a highly focused individual with an obsessive like work ethic. He gives 200% to his job, often dedicating his time off to put in extra hours. He has become especially guilty of this over the last two years as he's become more and more involved with trying to catch a serial killer who cannot seem to be caught. Being so involved with his work means that he is prone to high levels of stress, which he manages through regular cocaine and marijuana use. He is always friendly to speak to and shows high level of empathy when dealing with families of victims, though people are quick to notice that he almost never speaks about himself. Working with him can be a tiring experience as he does not overlook any detail and borderline avoids interpersonal friendships with his team while being as apologetic as about it as possible. To this day, no one really knows that he's been separated from his wife for close to two years.
